Labyrinth of Grief

With Susan Kaplan and Daria Leslea

4 Mondays, July 27 to August 17, 1:00-3:00 pm MDT

Labyrinth of Grief ~ a 4 week series with:
Daria Leslea, MA, LPN, RYT/CYT, Good Grief Yoga Therapy
Susan Kaplan, MSW, MPA, RYT, Listening & Leading From Within, LLC
Zoom gathering – with generous off camera time.

During our time together, you will experience the transformative power in being with others who have also experienced the sorrow, heartbreak, anguish, despair and sadness of loss*.

In walking a maze or labyrinth, you slow down in order to move with the unexpected twists and turns, finding your way in and out. You can’t think or plan your way, as your perspective changes with each pivot. By feeling your steps along the way, you stop, breathe, and sense a dynamic flow in moving with the maze. Similarly, you will be invited to sense your grief, moving with it instead of against it. Embody your grief. Get to know your grief from a new perspective.

Our Labyrinth of Grief will support your learning about key aspects and phases of grief, provide you with reflective practices to slow down and learn about who you are in loss, and ask questions about where you might feel baffled or stuck.

This invitational work will allow you to listen more deeply ~ to yourself and others~ in a brave and trustworthy space. Personal reflection time, listening to others in pairs & small groups and the main group conversations will accompany you on your “labyrinth walk of grief”. In addition, there will be optional practices between sessions and access to Daria or Susan for individual support. Access your own wisdom. Gain insights.

We will draw upon: innovative grief education; Courage & Renewal Principles and Practices®; read inspirational pieces; reflect on writing prompts; experience breathwork and heart work; and Nonviolent Communication ®practices of self-empathy and compassionate presence to others.

*Individual and collective loss can include the death of a loved one, financial upheaval, change in identity, witnessing death and dying of those you work with, losing a loved one to a health condition like dementia, COVID isolation, complicated grief, confluence of COVID, global suffering and climate disruption, experience of racism, or other types of important losses in your life. Anyone who has experienced a loss is welcome to attend.
