COVID isolation wearing your spirits down? Noticing changes due no contact? Experiencing a roller coaster of changes & emotions? Share & learn with others who have been sheltering alone, recognize your resilience, hear Ideas to lessen touch deprivation, explore tensions we are holding, practice self compassion. Sustain body, mind, heart, soul

  • Is COVID isolation wearing your spirits down?
  • Are you noticing changes due to touch deprivation?
  • In what ways are you experiencing a roller coaster of changes and emotions?

Come share what you have been doing to sustain your body, mind, heart and soul. During our time you will be able to identify and celebrate your resilience. There will also be invitational for you to give voice to any questions you are holding, grief, and challenges in a brave and trustworthy space. Principles & practices of Courage & Renewal and Nonviolent Communication will support deep listening in life-giving ways.

You will experience and learn:

  • A shared community with others who have been sheltering alone
  • Recognition of your resilience
  • Ideas to lessen skin hunger or touch deprivation
  • Explore the many paradoxes or tensions we hold while alone in these times
  • Steps towards self compassion

The challenges of sheltering alone may be hard to describe. Your experiences may feel exhausting, bewildering or complicated. There may be surprises that you actually laugh at the really good jokes you are learning to make! And in sharing with others who are enjoying this time at home, or sheltering with loved ones, it may be difficult to fully find the words to describe your unique experience. Perhaps you have chronic health conditions and have already been sheltering alone for some time, yet our current situation has brought new tension, worry and anxiety. There are many different experiences yet a common thread that is similar for all those alone during these pressing times.

Even if you identify as an introvert and value solitude, the pressures of sustained separation, loneliness during these unpredictable times, the collective sadness and/or anger you hold about the suffering around COVID in the world, and our the national events of racism and brutality may feel hard to bear alone. Even the odd sensation and humor of watching yourself in your own movie, a type of fantasy story or odd reality show, that makes you laugh and pause – who will vote you off the show- me, myself or I?

This gathering does not substitute for mental health support, so please reach out to your health insurance or the many mental health Pandemic resources now available.
