Authentically Us Explorations:
For the past six years, RMCCN has been building community and an international presence through our annual Authentically Us training weekend. We envision strengthening that community and our collective capacity to embody nonviolent communication by providing more consistent opportunities for learning and community support.
Each month one of us will share an inquiry that is actively shaping our lives, inviting our growing community of participants, facilitators, and supporters into the exploration. All are welcome to attend. Attendance is free. Donations are gratefully accepted.
This Month:
Expanding the Lens: NVC, Power, Culture & Choice
NVC can help us slow down, listen beneath the words, and connect with the human needs at the heart of our interactions.
At the same time, every conversation happens within a larger context.
Our culture shapes how we communicate.Power shapes what feels safe to say.Our circumstances shape the choices available to us.
What happens when we bring these realities more consciously into our NVC practice? Together, we’ll explore how paying attention to power, culture, and choice expands the possibilities of compassionate communication.
This is a space to question, notice, learn, and explore together. Bring your curiosity.
Prerequisite
This workshop assumes a working understanding of the NVC Observations, Feelings, Needs, Requests framework.
Facilitator
Marcela Bueno

Marcela is an open-minded, curious soul constantly looking for ways to express, connect with others, and make sense (or accept the nonsense) of this adventure called life.
Marcela is originally from Colombia and has lived in the US for eight years now. She heard about NVC first in 2023, and has since accepted its invitation to love fiercely, to be unapologetically authentic, and to embrace a new vision of the world–a whole real one in which hope is possible for everyone. During her wildest fantasies yet, Marcela inspires others to explore their full potential, while living a full (not perfect, not easy) life.
