Mary May is a CNVC Certified Trainer with a background in education. She has enjoyed sharing NVC with students, parents and those who work with children, in addition to groups and couples since 2017.
She offers classes and sessions that include inquiry, self-connection, and embodied practice to support awareness and integration. Alongside Holly Storm, Mary co-leads Foundations of Trust and Connection, a 14-session course that integrates nervous system awareness with NVC to support wholeness, joy, and authenticity for participants and the children in their lives. Mary also shares NVC in her local Northwest Indiana community and collaborates with the NWI Sociocracy Center to build regional resilience.
Mary’s teaching background includes Secondary Social Studies, Gender Studies, Montessori Lower Elementary with a special focus on Peace Education, and Self-Directed Education. She taught in a variety of educational settings for fifteen years before having children. NVC supports her in articulating her awareness of power, choice, and self-connection especially in relationship to children and learning.
Mary lives with her husband, their two daughters (ages 6 and 8) and their sweet dog, Buddy, in Chesterton, Indiana, USA. In addition to offering NVC courses and workshops, her days are filled with pretend play, reading, cooking, and learning together through self-directed homeschooling.
